Also, please familiarise yourself with the canon rules of Quidditch within the HP world, as you will be expected to have a basic knowledge of the rules of the game when when you begin posting during games. you may read up on the history of Quidditch and the rules and regulations of the game at the Harry Potter Lexicon.
All actions will be preformed within 24-hour rounds.
This means that after Madam Hooch posts all players have 24 hours in which to post their actions before Madam Hooch will post again with the results of all actions. If a player does not post within a round the team captains may reserve the right to replace that player with a substitute player.
Every player will have 3 basic statistics, which determine the success of their actions.
These skills will be based off skill with a broom (decided by a random D6 roll) and points of game experience (awarded according to average activity in the games you play over a year), which you get to assign.
The three statistics will be Dexterity (Dex), Strength (Str), and Concentration (Con).
Each statistic will determine different actions…
Dex - Avoiding Bludgers, Passing, Intercepting, Saving, Catching the snitch
Str - Stealing (from other chasers), Defending (the quaffle from being stolen and another player from a bludger), Scoring
Con – Maintain your action after being hit by a bludger
Points of Experience will be awarded according to activity in games and in team practices as such;
(TABLE)
((Note the question marks will be filled in after the sample game when reasonable numbers can be determined))
For their Points of Experience each character will select two positions to train in; when playing these positions they will get their full experience points.
br<>When a character is playing another position then they will only use half their experience points because they aren’t as well trained and experienced in that position.
The success of each action will be the result of a dice roll plus their statistic. The person with the highest result wins! Different actions will have different dice rolls, to account for the difficulty of the task.
The dice used for each action will be as follows…
Stealing Quaffle - D4
Defending from Steal - D8
Pass - D6
Intercept - D4
Score - D6
Save - D6
Bludger - D6
Avoid – D8
Defending a Bludger – D8
Concentration - D4
- D4: 4 sided dice
- D6: 6 sided dice
- D8: 8 sided dice
While the seekers will have the same three basic statistics their dice rolls will be a little different from the other players. Every round seekers will post their actions, like everyone else, the seekers will be looking for the snitch.
Seekers will not be competing against each other but looking for the higher result.
Before the game begins Madam Hooch will chose a random number between 1 and 30.
Every round the seekers post a search for the snitch they will get a roll of a D30 – as soon as someone hits the random number they see the snitch!
Once the snitch has been spotted the seekers go after it.
The seekers who posted looking will get a D10+Dex and the snitch will get D10+Snitch Bonus (which will change by game depending on seeker stats).
If the snitch gets a better result than both seekers he escapes and seekers go back to looking for him again.
If seekers have a better result than the snitch they catch him – the seeker with the highest wins.
In the result of a tie the seeker who spotted the snitch wins.
- D10: 10 sided dice
- D30: 30 sided dice
