1. If you wish to duel, both you and your opponent MUST post. If only you post, then it is assumed the other person does not wish to duel.
2. Do not argue with the referee! Violations may result in you being banned from further duels!
3. No unauthorized dueling! If you wish to duel send an Owl Post to the Professor Suivant with your name and whom you wish to duel. All duels will take place in the dueling classroom! (note, both students must agree to the duel).
5. Cast ONLY the approved spells!
6. Do NOT cast more than one offensive charm at a time!
7. Do NOT continue a duel without the Referee's permission!
8. Once the duel is over, do NOT cast any more spells!
7. If your opponents submits, the duel is over. Do NOT cast any more spells at them!
Students cast their charm and dice is rolled to see if the student can successfully cast their charm.
The chance a student has to correctly cast their charm depends on the difficulty level of the spell and the student's year.
The following chart lists the chances for each spell.

If the offensive student successfully casts their charm then the defensive student will cast a defensive charm. The chance a student has to correctly cast their defensive charm depends on the experience of the student.

The duel shall end after each student has attempted 3 offensive charms.
The student who inflicts the most points upon the other is the winner of the duel.
If student point totals are tied, then each student shall cast another charm and the duel will continue until one student wins.
